Meet the Facilitator

Clint Fluker, Ph.D. is the visionary behind Ph.D. Hustle. A Hustler himself, Clint is the Senior Director of Culture, Community, and Partner Engagement for Emory University Libraries and the Michael C. Carlos Museum. He is also the co-founder of ThrdSpace.

Clint is a third generation Ph.D. and has spent his life learning how to hustle in the academy. From his early training at the Westminster Schools in Atlanta, Georgia to his experience as a Mellon-Mayes Fellow, a member of Phi Beta Kappa, President of the Honors Program at Morehouse College, and Fulbright Scholar, Clint stayed hustling.

But it all got real when he was a second-year Ph.D. student. His new wife told him that his fellowship package wasn’t enough and he was going to have to hustle harder so that they could move out of his mom’s house.

He’s here to tell you that the hustle doesn’t have to be hard and that a little strategy will go a long way.

Clint received his Ph.D. in American Studies at Emory University’s Institute for Liberal Arts, with a research focus on contemporary movements in black speculative fiction.
