Zora Head: The Life and Scholarship of Valerie Boyd is a film that dives into the archives of the late Valerie Boyd and focuses on her dedication to sharing black women's stories through her most lauded publications, Wrapped in Rainbows: The Life of Zora Neale Hurston, Gathering Blossoms Under Fire: The Journals of Alice Walker, and Bigger Than Bravery: Black Resilience and Reclamation in a Time of Pandemic.

I co-directed this documentary along with my colleague, Steve Bransford, to explore some of the social aspects of Chicago Steppin’ in one of its thriving newer markets of Atlanta, GA. The film is based on the scholarship of Dr. Anjulet Tucker.

The Big City Map Project is a virtual reality project I designed and led that explores the fictional world of the 1990s comic book, Brotherman: Dictator of Discipline.

Planet Deep South: ATL Edition is a sympsosium I co-organized in 2020 with my colleague Dr. Rico Chapman on Digital Humanities, speculative cultural productions, and Africanisms in the American South.

I co-curated Villa Albertine’s Night of Ideas along with Nasim Fluker, on March 1, 2024. The event explores the theme of urban mutations through the lenses of the environment, Afro-futurism, and artistic expression. How are cities preparing for the environmental challenges to come? Will Atlanta become the model for an ecological and equitable city? As a major city in the South, how Atlanta steps into the future will have a significant impact on the entire region both socially and ecologically.
